She Will Reign has been dominant in her two career starts so far and remains an outright $1.60 favourite in 2017 Silver Slipper betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Khan ($4.60) and clear market mover Veranillo ($6).

Will She Will Reign justify her clear favouritism and win the 2017 Silver Slipper, or will one of her talented rivals post a major upset?

She Will Reign ($1.60)

The sheer ease in which She Will Reign has put away her rivals during her short career so far suggests that she will just win the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes. Trialling well in the lead-up to her competitive debut, the Manhattan Rain filly produced an impressive turn of foot to win the Festive Season Maiden (1000m) by nearly nine lengths on debut. Repeating the dose in the Inglis Nursery (1000m) at Randwick only one week later, She Will Reign is drawn well and weighted ideally in the Silver Slipper Stakes field.

Khan ($4.60)

Khan has only made one appearance at the races so far, but the colt is bathed in quality and is arguably the biggest chance of upsetting She Will Reign in the Silver Slipper Stakes 2017. Posting a dominant trial win in September last year, Khan jumped from the gates only fairly in the Listed Breeders’ Plate (1000m) on October 1st, but produced a big turn of foot in the final straight to win the race by close to two lengths. Kerrin McEvoy will take the ride on the Exceed And Excel colt.

Veranillo ($6)

Godolphin horse Veranillo is also yet to taste anything but success and arguably offers punters the best value for money in 2017 Silver Slipper betting markets at $6 to win, or $2.20 to finish in the minors. Debuting for a smart win in a Rosehill minor over 1100m on November 12th before immediately returning to the paddock, the Medaglia D’Oro colt resumed for a dominant win in the Listed Lonhro Plate (1100m) and has reportedly taken plenty of benefit from the run.
